Two weeks ago, I finished the Insanity Program and it took every bit of everything I had to complete it. That last week was a killer, I think because being done seemed so close but yet so far away when you popped in the dvd and saw the time it would take to do the workouts you know are tough. But...and here's the big but...I wanted to say that I completed it, I wanted to prove to myself that I could and would do it.
I didn't lose any weight because I just ate worse than normal, which is too say, what you put into your body seriously matters. I do plan to do the program again and I think the next time, I will try to eat right. Or at least better.
So for the past two weeks, I've taken it easy by walking on the treadmill, doing 20 minutes of Pilates, or doing absolutely nothing. I say my body needed a rest but I just wanted to rest. Today, I thought I'd try one of the easier first month exercises and see how well I could do. Let me just tell you, I got a pretty big reality check, it wasn't how well I was doing, it was get your butt moving because you aren't keeping up...at all! Now I didn't think I'd be killing it but I also wasn't prepared for how winded I would be, how exhausted I would be, and how much I would struggle. It wasn't easy!
I haven't decided when I'll try to do the program again but I know it'll be tough no matter what.

Insanity Program - 2 Weeks Left
Well only two full weeks left of our Insanity workout program and I'm feeling a little sad that it's almost over. Now, don't get me wrong, there are many days that I dread taking the time to do the workouts but I always feel better after I've finished. I looked a little like a drowned rat with all of the sweat pouring off of me but I feel like I can do anything after getting a butt kicking workout.
The second month is a lot more difficult that the first and it also takes a lot more time to complete the dvd but it's also fun, especially when my husband and I do one together. This past week my husband was on a tough work shift for us to complete together so some days we worked out separately, it's not as much fun to do by yourself so if you want to do the workouts and stick with them, try to find a partner or friend that wants to participate. A special bonus - the workouts seem to go much faster when you can talk to someone, or at least try to talk after catching your breath.
While working out today, my husband asked me what I'd like for my birthday (we have the same birthday but he's a year older) and I said I thought about asking him to purchase and do another workout program with me. I figured he would be completely against this but surprisingly he was into the idea. So does anyone recommend another workout program? Or should we just repeat Insanity?

Insanity Exercise - Update
If you ever need or want a complete butt kicking workout, I really recommend the Insanity program. It's crazy, my husband and I are now on our third week of workouts and while I sometimes dread what we are going to do, at the end drenched in sweat and thoroughly exhausted, I feel so much better. Stronger! This week our workouts begin late at night because of the shift my husband is on and the kiddos need to go to bed first. Even though it's only been two days, this has been the most difficult week thus far to even be halfway motivated. However, I refuse to stop because I'm tired, I am slower than what I should be but I'm still pushing.
The workouts are tough and a decent amount of variety, although if you don't like jumping or if you have bad knees or hips this program may not be for you. I am enjoying getting my heart rate up, sweating a ridiculous amount, and found out that I love working out with my husband. The only bad thing, while he pushes himself exceptionally hard he constantly tells me to take a break, go easy, and would completely let me slack. This is difficult for me because I need and prefer someone yelling at me to do better and work harder.
One other thing, I didn't take the before photos but my body hasn't changed because I eat horribly. So if you want this workout program to really work and benefit you, your diet is extremely important. My husband has lost weight (and he wasn't overweight in any way to begin with) and you can clearly see that he's becoming toned. And yes, I'm insanely jealous but I also know it's because of what I'm putting into my body.

Body After Baby
Today I was given clearance from my doctor to resume all activity that was restricted due to a c-section, and my husband and I had decided to do the Insanity Workout program as soon as I was able.
So, today we started.
The first workout day is only a Fit Test to give you a baseline of what you can do, or maybe I should say, what I can't do. It's only 30 minutes and there is a warm-up and cool down. I thought how bad can this really be...the test has eight exercises that are each a minute and you are to keep good form but go as fast as possible. You rest in between each exercise but by the time I was finished, my butt was kicked. I mean really kicked! I'm looking forward to trying tomorrow's exercise AND a little worried about even getting through it. Wish me luck.
